The Palcare program looks like no other child care and education program available. One of the underlying concepts that makes Palcare stand out is that of flexible scheduling. For parents with work schedules that change from month to month, they can create a new child care schedule every month. A small Change Schedule Fee is charged, but waived for parents that work at San Francisco International Airport. Because of this flexible care schedule, we also require flexible work schedules with our staff. Together we work toward the goals of providing high quality, flexible schedule child care in an environment that supports the growth and development of children, their families, and the caregiving professionals that work with them.
Palcare is a developmentally based child care and educational program. The program philosophy is based on the theoretical works of Jean Piaget and Erik Erikson, and the ensuing work of developmental psychologists and educators. A very strong emphasis is placed on the development of a love for learning, the beginning of autonomy, and moral growth.
