Parent Point Requirement

All Palcare families are required to participate in center activities that improve the quality of care and education at Palcare. The Parent Participation Program is designed to offer parents many options for becoming involved. Since instituting this program, we have seen remarkable growth in parent participation.

The requirement is 24 hours (aka Parent Points) per two parent families or 12 points per single parent families each fiscal year (July 1 through June 30). There are many ways to fulfill this obligation such as attending Board Meetings, Parent/Staff Meetings, PAC meetings, volunteering in the classroom, volunteering at family activities, helping on fundraisers and purchasing items for classrooms from teachers’ “wish lists”. Many employers will match employee contributions or volunteer hours and these employer matches can add to your total points. Check with your employers HR Department.

Hours will be prorated for families who begin later in the fiscal year. Points not earned will be billed at a rate of $15 per hour.

Parent points can be earned all at once or throughout the year. It is each parent's responsibility to fill out a Parent Participation Forms for each activity completed. Forms are located in the parent area in the front office. Place completed forms in the tuition box.
